Arthur C Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies and Sri Lanka Air Force initiate collaborations in strategically selected technology domains

The Arthur C Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies (ACCIMT) have joined with the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) forces to strengthen SLAF’s capabilities in strategically vital technology domains through collaborative research and development, technical consultation and professional training, and through other related interactions. To officially commence this initiative a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa and Eng. (Dr.) Sanath Panawennage, Director General and CEO of Arthur C Clarke Institute at SLAF Head Quarters, on March 25, 2024

The primary aim of this collaborative endeavor is to devise and execute a comprehensive medium-term programme aimed at enhancing the technological prowess of the SLAF, particularly in the realms of Space Technology and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). This initiative seeks to elevate SLAF’s capabilities to effectively fulfill its role within Sri Lanka’s national defense strategy.

Furthermore, this strategic partnership with ACCIMT offers SLAF the opportunity to jointly develop and implement a detailed medium-term agenda aimed at expanding technological capacities in Space Technology and UAVs. Additionally, tailormade professional training sessions on Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems and other related technology domains will be provided, in addition to ongoing technical support.
