Emerging Concepts and Research in Integrated Sustainable Adaptation (ECRISA 2026 ) International Conference
The Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies (ACCIMT) successfully hosted the Emerging Concepts and Research in Integrated Sustainable Adaptation (ECRISA 2026 )
The Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies (ACCIMT) successfully hosted the Emerging Concepts and Research in Integrated Sustainable Adaptation (ECRISA 2026), a two-day international research conference conducted at a nationally recognized and academically rigorous standard. The event marked a significant milestone in the Institute’s continued commitment to advancing research, innovation, and institutional capacity building.
ECRISA 2026 featured seven technical sessions, more than 40 oral research presentations, and a dedicated poster session. The conference attracted a diverse group of contributors, including academics, industry professionals, postgraduate scholars, and undergraduate researchers. The strong response from across the academic and professional community reaffirmed ACCIMT’s growing recognition as a credible research, design, and development platform within Sri Lanka’s research and innovation ecosystem.
The academic stature of the conference was further elevated by two distinguished keynote speakers. Hans Wijayasuriya, Senior Presidential Advisor and Chairman of the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), and Mansoor Lai of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) delivered keynote addresses that strengthened the academic and policy relevance of the conference. Their insights bridged research, national development priorities, and technology-driven innovation.
The conference benefited from the voluntary engagement of highly qualified academic and industry professionals who served as reviewers, technical session chairs, and co-chairs. A structured peer-review process ensured academic rigor and quality assurance, maintaining high scholarly standards throughout the event.
Importantly, ECRISA 2026 generated valuable institutional knowledge and documented procedural frameworks for future initiatives. The Institute established formal processes for securing publication partnerships with Springer and for obtaining co-organizer collaboration and consent from the National Science Foundation. Technical partnerships were secured with SLASSCOM and Sri Lanka Electronic Manufacturers and Exporters Association, while sponsorships were successfully negotiated with leading corporate entities including Browns, Hayleys, IWMI, and other partners. These collaborations strengthened ACCIMT’s industry linkages and resource mobilization capacity. Through research presentations, committee participation, and engagement with national and international scholars, ACCIMT researchers enhanced their professional visibility and expanded opportunities for collaborative research, joint publications, and industry engagement. ECRISA 2026 stands as a landmark achievement for ACCIMT—reinforcing its leadership in research-driven innovation and establishing a strong foundation for future international academic collaborations.
