GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND REMOTE SENSING

The course presents and offers practical training in methodological approaches relevant to the field of Geographical Information Systems as well as Remote Sensing. The course will begin with an exploration of issues of general relevance to empirical investigation in the field and an overview of research methods.


Participants will use these theoretical underpinnings to begin to critically review literature relevant to their field or interests and determine how research findings are useful in forming their understanding of their work, social, local and global environment

Module 1: Seminar in GIS research methods

Module 2: Seminar in Remote Sensing research methods

Module 3: Experimental Designs of research

Module 4: Critically Critiquing Research Reports

Module 5: Identify and assess ethical issues related to research on human behaviour

Anyone who identifies, quantifies, analyzes or tests the the spatial data using GIS and remote sensing techniques can join
